Location of Farewell Sermon

حَدَّثَنَا حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَبَّاسٍ، أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ، أَقْبَلَ يَسِيرُ عَلَى حِمَارٍ وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَائِمٌ يُصَلِّي بِمِنًى فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ يُصَلِّي بِالنَّاسِ - قَالَ - فَسَارَ الْحِمَارُ بَيْنَ يَدَىْ بَعْضِ الصَّفِّ ثُمَّ نَزَلَ عَنْهُ فَصَفَّ مَعَ النَّاسِ ‏.‏

Abdullah b. Abbas reported that he came riding on a donkey, and the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was leading the people in prayer at Mina on the occasion of the Farewell Pilgrimage and (the narrator) reported: The donkey passed in front of the row and then he got down from it And joined the row along with the people.

وعن أبي بكر رضي الله عنه أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال في خطبته يوم النحر بمنًى في حجة الوداع‏: ‏ ‏"‏إن دماءكم، وأموالكم، وأعراضكم حرام عليكم كحرمة يومكم هذا، في شهركم هذا، في بلدكم هذا، ألا هل بلغت” ‏(‏‏(‏متفق عليه‏)‏‏)‏‏.‏

Abu Bakrah (May Allah be pleased with him) said: Delivering the sermon during the Farewell Pilgrimage on the day of Sacrifice at Mina, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "Verily your blood, your property and your honour are as sacred and inviolable as the sanctity of this day of yours, in this month of yours and in this town of yours. Verily! I have conveyed this message to you." [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى، وَعَمْرٌو النَّاقِدُ، وَإِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ قَالَ وَالنَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يُصَلِّي بِعَرَفَةَ ‏.‏

This hadith has been narrated by Ibn 'Uyaina on the authority of al-Zuhri with the same chain of transmitters and he reported: The Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) was leading prayer at 'Arafat.

Narrated Ibn Abbas: I heard the Prophet (ﷺ) delivering a sermon at Arafat.

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ يُونُسَ، حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ، حَدَّثَنِي حَارِثَةُ بْنُ وَهْبٍ الْخُزَاعِيُّ، قَالَ صَلَّيْتُ خَلْفَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم بِمِنًى وَالنَّاسُ أَكْثَرُ مَا كَانُوا فَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ ‏.‏ قَالَ مُسْلِمٌ حَارِثَةُ بْنُ وَهْبٍ الْخُزَاعِيُّ هُوَ أَخُو عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ لأُمِّهِ ‏.‏

Wahb al-Khuza'i reported: I prayed behind the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) at Mina, and there was the greatest number of people, and they prayed two rak'ahs on the occasion of the Farewell Pilgrimage. (Muslim said: Haritha b. Wahb al-Khuza'i is the brother of 'Ubaidullah b. 'Umar son of Khattab from the side of his mother.)

وَعَنْ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ; ‏- رضى الله عنه ‏- أَنَّ اَلنَّبِيَّ ‏- صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏-قَالَ: فِي خُطْبَتِهِ يَوْمَ اَلنَّحْرِ بِمِنًى 1‏ { إِنَّ دِمَاءَكُمْ وَأَمْوَالَكُمْ [ وَأَعْرَاضَكُمْ ] عَلَيْكُمْ حَرَامٌ, كَحُرْمَةِ يَوْمِكُمْ هَذَا، فِي بَلَدِكُمْ هَذَا، فِي شَهْرِكُمْ هَذَا } مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ 2‏ .‏ ‏1 ‏- تحرف في " أ " إلى: " بمعنى ".‏ ‏2 ‏- صحيح.‏ رواه البخاري ( 67 )‏، ومسلم ( 1679 )‏.‏

Narrated Abu Bakra (RA): In his Khutbah (religious talk - sermon) on the Day of Sacrifice at Mina, the Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Your blood and your property and your honor are forbidden for you to violate, like the sacredness of this day of yours, in this month of yours, in this city of yours." حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنْ هِلاَلِ بْنِ عَامِرٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم بِمِنًى يَخْطُبُ عَلَى بَغْلَةٍ وَعَلَيْهِ بُرْدٌ أَحْمَرُ وَعَلِيٌّ - رضى الله عنه - أَمَامَهُ يُعَبِّرُ عَنْهُ ‏.‏

Narrated Amir: I saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) at Mina giving sermon on a mule and wearing a red garment, while Ali was announcing.

*****حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ قَزَعَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ،‏.‏ وَقَالَ اللَّيْثُ حَدَّثَنِي يُونُسُ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، حَدَّثَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَبَّاسٍ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ، أَقْبَلَ يَسِيرُ عَلَى حِمَارٍ، وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَائِمٌ بِمِنًى فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ يُصَلِّي بِالنَّاسِ، فَسَارَ الْحِمَارُ بَيْنَ يَدَىْ بَعْضِ الصَّفِّ، ثُمَّ نَزَلَ عَنْهُ، فَصَفَّ مَعَ النَّاسِ‏.‏

Narrated Abdullah bin Abbas: That he came riding a donkey when Allah's Apostle was standing at Mina during Hajjat-ul-Wada`, leading the people in prayer. The donkey passed in front of a part of the row (of the people offering the prayer). Then he dismounted from it and took his position in the row with the people.
