New covenant

Luke 22:20: During the Last Supper, Jesus says, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you." This is the most direct reference to the new covenant in the Gospels, linking it to his sacrificial death.

Matthew 26:28: In Matthew's account of the Last Supper, Jesus says, "This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins." While the term "new" is not used here, the context suggests a new understanding of the covenant relationship between God and humanity.

Mark 14:24: Similar to Matthew, Mark records Jesus saying, "This is my blood of the [new] covenant, which is poured out for many." Some manuscripts include "new" here.

Romans 7:

7 Do you not know, brethren—for I am speaking to those who know the law—that the law is binding on a person only during his life? 2 Thus a married woman is bound by law to her husband as long as he lives; but if her husband dies she is discharged from the law concerning the husband. 3 Accordingly, she will be called an adulteress if she lives with another man while her husband is alive. But if her husband dies she is free from that law, and if she marries another man she is not an adulteress.

4 Likewise, my brethren, you have died to the law through the body of Christ, so that you may belong to another, to him who has been raised from the dead in order that we may bear fruit for God. 5 While we were living in the flesh, our sinful passions, aroused by the law, were at work in our members to bear fruit for death. 6 But now we are discharged from the law, dead to that which held us captive, so that we serve not under the old written code but in the new life of the Spirit.

Romans 9:

30 What shall we say, then? That Gentiles who did not pursue righteousness have attained it, that is, righteousness through faith; 31 but that Israel who pursued the righteousness which is based on law did not succeed in fulfilling that law. 32 Why? Because they did not pursue it through faith, but as if it were based on works. They have stumbled over the stumbling stone, 33 as it is written,

“Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone that will make men stumble, a rock that will make them fall; and he who believes in him will not be put to shame.”

Romans 10: (Paul's declaration of faith)

9 because, if you confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For man believes with his heart and so is justified, and he confesses with his lips and so is saved. 11 The scripture says, “No one who believes in him will be put to shame.” 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; the same Lord is Lord of all and bestows his riches upon all who call upon him. 13 For, “every one who calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved.”

Romans 11: Paul's theology shifts from a focus on Jews to Gentiles and also proclaims that what Jesus taught was that through the sacrifice of his body, one can live forever. Without repentance, the wage of sin is death (Romans 6:23). Through this lesson, we all become children of God and part of "Christ." This shows that he viewed Jesus's death as what caused him to be resurrected as the "son of God" and that this is figurative and can be applied to all who believe in him (his lesson).

Romans 12:

4 For as in one body we have many members, and all the members do not have the same function, 5 so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.

2 Corinthians 3

14 But their minds were hardened; for to this day, when they read the old covenant, that same veil remains unlifted, because only through Christ is it taken away. 15 Yes, to this day whenever Moses is read a veil lies over their minds; 16 but when a man turns to the Lord the veil is removed. 17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 18 And we all, with unveiled face, beholding[b] the glory of the Lord, are being changed into his likeness from one degree of glory to another; for this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.
